Administration Building
Window Replacement

Aberdeen School District No. 5

The Aberdeen School District administrative offices occupy a local historic building constructed in the early 1910’s that originally housed the Aberdeen Post Office. Harbor Architects LLC was brought on board to assist with the replacement of 43 original wood frame windows that had been deteriorating for years. Most of these windows were built with an operable sash that no longer worked.

It was important to the district that new windows would replicate the

original historic character of the brick building. New wood windows with exterior aluminum cladding and insulated glazing were installed to closely match the original profiles. Existing interior trim was re-installed and the wood interior of the new windows was stained to match the existing trim.

During Construction Administration, our team worked with the district and contractor to accommodate the school schedule and disrupt operations as little as possible. Construction was completed in Fall of 2023.
