Monika F. Kuhnau, AIA
Monika was born and raised in Aberdeen, graduating from Aberdeen High School in 2003. After completing her AA at Grays Harbor Community College, Monika was accepted into the Architecture and Interior Design programs at the University of Idaho. She spent 7 years in Idaho to obtain a Bachelors in Interior Design, a Masters in Architecture, and a Minor in Technical Theater. Monika became licensed as a Registered Architect in the State of Washington in 2021. Working in a small firm has provided Monika with experience in both residential and commercial design as well as project management from conception through project closeout. In early 2023, she became the owner of the firm and is excited to continue its legacy.
Monika has served on the Aberdeen Planning Commission since 2014. She also remains actively involved in the local theater productions at Grays Harbor College’s Bishop Center. You will find her in the booth running the show as stage manager, or backstage as the assistant stage manager, ensuring smooth operation behind the scenes. At the Driftwood Players you will find her set designs gracing the stages, and see her covered in paint from bringing them to life.
